Linda Cheeseman writes.....

HQL have provided excellent care for my son, who has been placed with them for sixteen years.  My son has autism and exhibits very challenging behaviour.  Placements for him have always been difficult to find.  However HQL staff have always been very caring of his and his family’s needs.

When my son was happy to visit us at home staff from Wolverton Court would bring him home and stay with him.  Over the years however he has come to think of Wolverton Court as his home and has become very reluctant to come home on visits which have resulted in me and my sons going to Dover to visit him.  We have always been made to feel welcome and well informed by staff of my son’s activities and new achievements.

Opportunities for new activities for residents at Wolverton Court are always being investigated.  A couple of years ago we were involved in a Personal Care Plan for my son.  As a result of this many new activities were adopted for him which at first I was uncertain as to how successful these would be.  However I was proved wrong and he has been participating in regular swimming sessions, trips to concerts (his particular favourite being Abba tribute bands), regular visits out for meals and music clubs.  Plans are now afoot for him to participate in some external working activities.

The HQL organisation has offered excellent support to both my son and my family.  The residents at Wolverton Court present lots of challenges but HQL seem to rise to the challenge and offer excellent support and care.
